Gavin Smith Bio
If there's anyone that most people that follow poker closely know, it's surely Gavin Smith. He is known nationwide as being a serious and tough competitor, and as being a constant figure in the world of poker, as you may have seen him on a few poker shows by now. Gavin was born on Sept. 4th, 1968. His birthplace is Guelth, Ontario - a little known fact to most people that may know of him. In both 1999 and the year after, Smith won tournaments in the World Poker Finals, which brought him into the attention of many players and poker fans as well. As time went on, Gavin had shown no intention of stopping or slowing down on the path that he was building for himself.
Once a newbie on the scene, that quickly passed and he shot up in the ranks as a well respected and watched player. Nicknamed "bird guts" and "caveman", he swept the nation as a great competitor with his own unique playing style. In 2005, Gavin Smith raked in more than a whopping one million dollars as a result of coming in at first in the WTP. From then to 2007 he would go to take on many competitions and tournaments that would be bring in the money like clockwork. Smith has been known to donate to charity and contribute to different causes that he deem needy and feel that he could help with.
